Opportunities for salacious commentary aside, this is actually a nice image of two friends.
HOWEVER, a few notes:

1. Jeans are unbuttoned
2. Hand on the left pectoral. Though it's not clear whether he is resting his hand, or preparing to push gray away.
   
3. The guy in gray is clearly relaxed, laughing.
4. College dorm furniture, but definitely older, showing wear
5. NOT urban. The can of Sam's club soda is the giveaway. Probably college town, isolated in a midwestern state.
   
6. Not gay. The back of the head is on the forearm. If they were comfortable with each other intimately, gray would be resting on the upper arm, more points of contact along the sides of the bodies.
